The First Peoples Innovation Centre (CIPP) had the great honour of welcoming Ghislain Picard, former Regional Chief of the Assembly of First Nations Quebec-Labrador (AFNQL), to its facilities.

A highly respected figure in Indigenous leadership across Canada, Mr. Picard has spent over three decades defending the rights of First Peoples, fostering inter-nation dialogue, and advancing justice, self-determination, and the recognition of Indigenous knowledge systems.

His visit to the CIPP — alongside our Executive Director, Céline Auclair, and the entire team — was a powerful opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions on current issues facing Indigenous communities, the challenges ahead, and the future we are working to build together.

CIPP is deeply grateful that Mr. Picard accepted our invitation. His presence represents more than a formal visit — it is a symbolic recognition of the work we are doing on the ground, and a valuable source of encouragement for our team members who dedicate themselves every day to bridging innovation, identity, and knowledge transmission.
