Onaki Art is a project planned for fall 2019, funded by Quebec’s Ministère de la Culture et des Communications. It aims to introduce digital fabrication technology and the fabrication of ceremonial wear to Indigenous artists and creators, who can then explore these new fabrication methods on their own terms, modernizing their styles and methods of artisanal production without uprooting traditional knowledge. The Onaki Art project aims to promote Indigenous art by providing these creators with tools and methods that will allow them to work more efficiently, which will have a positive impact on their lives and livelihoods.
