The ONAKI Circles provide a safe space in schools where Indigenous students can gather and explore their roots. A variety of activities were offered to allow students to reconnect with their culture, based on suggestions by the students and led by an Indigenous facilitator.
In 2016, ONAKI Circles were created in two Gatineau high schools: Symmes-D’Arcy McGee and Hadley & Philemon Wright. Circles are also being developed in six other high schools.
